a Critical Thinker and Inquirer

Discuss the process that took place in completing this task.
At the end of the semester of government we were assigned to write a essay. This assignment is evidence that I'm a critical thinker and inquirer learner. I used systems of thinking, solved problems, make judgements, and make decisions.
We wrote the essay about gun control. Since the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut had just happened, Mr. Kenney, my Government teacher, thought it would be good to learn about gun control. We researched it on our own taking notes on important dates, facts, and opinions. We collected data on a note card that we were allowed to look at while writing the essay. We did it in class because it was a test assignment and we couldn't do it at home. I learned that there's thousands of arguments out there about gun control and against it. So many dates and crimes including guns and many facts on the situation.
I learned how to use various types of reasoning, different ways of thinking, solve unfamiliar problems, and make decisions. With this assignment I determined the cause and effect of guns, the relationships, using logic to find out this, and distinguished between facts and opinions. I classified data, predicted consequences, evaluated arguments, and synthesized information. I also formulated alternative solutions and clarified the problems and solutions of gun control. I am proud to say I learned valuable information that could be used in my future or now in the present.
