Savanna High School's Senior capstone Portfolio project
Class of 2013, I present to you my Senior Capstone Portfolio Project. It includes evidence, reflections, and demonstrates achievements of Savanna's Student Learning Capacities. I used pieces of work from all four years of high school to prove I'm a Critical Thinker and Inquirer, Academically and Personally Accountable, a Communicator and Collaborator, Globally Aware and Culturally Competent, and a Digital Age Learner. I used evidence for that from English and Spanish class. Also I provided two more pieces of my choice that I am proud of learning, which are building and lighting a fire without a lighter or fluid and changing a tire on a vehicle. I included my transcript as evidence for completing four years of high school. The transcript includes all the different schools I went to and how my GPA changed over the four years. I included a resume, that I created, to show that I've had work experience and have done community service while helping my fellow towns people. The resume includes the awards I received and some personal information as well.
I've only been at Savanna for two years, but I've learned a lot of information that I will use in my future. Savanna prepares it's students for the real world, teaching them valuable information, how to make decisions, and how to manage job skills and money. I learned information that I will use for the rest of my life and some I won't use because of the specific career I'm looking into. My Freshman year and most of my Sophomore year I lived in Texas and went to Pilot Point High School, in Pilot Point. Then I moved here to California and finished my Sophomore year at La Quinta High School in Westminster. After that I moved here, to Anaheim, and I've been here at Savanna High School ever since. In the past four years I have learned skills I can use in the real world, among family or friends, and in school. I served community service, got a job, worked well on my education, and tried my best to be friends with everyone. Savanna has taught us efficiently and accurately to help us continue our life journey learning not only job skills but also life skills as well. I would like to be a Nurse and make a living career out of it. With the skills and lessons I've learned at Savanna, I would love to obtain any position in the Nursing program. Using everything I have learned and know to do my best in the working environment. All together I've learned some pretty important information I'll be using on everyday situations. I've learned to work independently, multitask, solve problems, make decisions, and manage goals. I have also learned to adapt to change, guide and lead others, be responsible, communicate clearly, apply technology effectively, and I'm aware of the cultural diversity we have in this country.
